For our annual golf league Christmas party, instead of exchanging gifts
we pick a charitable organization to donate to. This year the R.J.
Scheffel Memorial Toy Project was chosen by the golf league. Enclosed
you will find our contribution to your organization. Our best wishes to
all your volunteers for a Merry Christmas and our thanks to them for
making the lives of children a little bit brighter.

Congratulations to everyone at the R.J. Scheffel Memorial Toy Project
for securing a grant from the Capital Region Community Foundation! This
investment is a result of the important work you have already done and
is indicative of the trust that the R.J. Scheffel Memorial Toy Project
has earned. It is my hope that this grant provides you with the
resources necessary to continue your valuable service to our community..

My brother, Bob Herbst, volunteers in your workshop several days a
week. On a recent visit in September, he brought me (his sister) with
him on a day to help with the toys. I was very impressed with the
variety of projects being worked on and the friendliness of all those
in the shop. In fact, I even had the chance to help paint trucks and
assemble cars.
Please accept this contribution in honor
of Bob, and put it to good use. Bob has really enjoyed helping out in
the shop.

This contribution is from a client of
mine. Every year he gives me gift certificates for restaurants, stores,
etc. This year, I asked him not to give anything. So, he wrote this
check to the Scheffel Toy Project instead. How cool is that?! See you
soon.

Scheffel-Toys Needs Your Help |
Scheffel-Toys
relies heavily on contributions and donations to make it possible to
build special toys for children need. We rely on volunteers, so there
are no salaries. Every contribution goes into materials to make toys
for children.
We appreciate the generosity of remodelers for paneling or cupboard
doors.
Gloss latex
polyurethane and paint, particularly in bright colors, can often be
used.
Some other
items we need include glue, nails, sander belts & disks, saw
blades, screws, wood filler, wooden dowels and wheels of different
sizes. Plywood sheets, 3/16",1/2" and 3/4" are very helpful, along with
1” x 4” and 1” x 6” or 2" x 4" and 2" x 6" boards.
